Quiz Evaluation Page

Evaluate quiz attempts in the Quiz Evaluation page.

  • Navigate to Assessments > Quizzes and select Grade from the drop-down menu of the quiz or exam name.
  • Select an attempt link below the student's name to begin grading the test.

  1. Student's profile: View the student's profile. Email and instant message the student.
  2. Attempt 1: Depending on the number of attempts allowed, use the the drop-down menu to change the attempt number as well as access the completion summary.
  3. Filters: (Optional) - Filter by pending evaluation or retaken questions only to expedite the grading process.
  4. Use the vertical bar to drag and increase your screen real estate.
  5. Event log: Displays the page movements of the student during the test from quiz entry to completion. This includes details such as the submission timestamp.
  6. Feedback: Similar to the overall feedback but only accessible within the test. If you do not allow access after the test is submitted, students will never be able to read it.
  7. Attempt grade: Score displayed from grading the test. This should update automatically based on the individual scores. You can manually override this score and clear it as needed.
  8. Attempt Feedback: Overall feedback accessible to students outside of the test by navigating to Assessments > Quizzes and reading the feedback under Evaluation Status. If the quiz was published and synced to the gradebook, students can view their quiz attempts and overall feedback by navigating to Assessments > Grades. A link to the view the quiz attempts should be present there.
  9. Class and user statistics:
    • Class Stats: View an overview of submitted grades, including the total number of submissions, as well as minimum, maximum, average, mode, and median-displayed as either percentages or letter grades.
    • User Stats: Access a list of student grades. Use the search bar to find students by name or filter results by test score. You can also flag students considered high risk.
  10. Publish or Save Draft. It is best practice to save draft and publish all after grading each submission. 
  11. Use the arrow to grade the next student's submission.
  12. Click the ellipsis to find a menu of options:
    • Edit Quiz
    • Preview Quiz
    • Reset Evaluation
    • Event Log
    • Show Learner View of Grade
  13. Return back to the previous page, Grade Quiz, which lists all student attempts.
