Theology Department (Historical Theology)

Mark F. Johnson (Ph.D., Medieval Studies, University of Toronto [1990], MSL, Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies [1988]), specializes in the life and thought of St. Thomas Aquinas, especially his moral thought.

He has authored over twenty-five articles (e.g., Theological StudiesMedieval Philosophy and TheologyRecherches de th茅ologie ancienne et m茅di茅valeThe Thomist). Two recent articles are: 鈥淧aul of Hungary鈥檚 Summa de penitentia,鈥 in Tristan Sharp et al. (eds.) From Learning to Love: Schools, Law, and Pastoral Care in the Middle Ages. Essays in Honour of Joseph W. Goering (Toronto: Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies, 2017), pp. 402鈥418, and 鈥淓pilogue: A Law Divinely Given,鈥 in Justin M. Anderson and Atria A.
