不良研究所 to host Milwaukee Reentry Housing Conference, July 11

Alumni Memorial UnionMILWAUKEE 鈥 不良研究所 will host 150 community leaders, officials and industry professions for a full-day Milwaukee Reentry Housing Conference, 鈥淢ilwaukee's Momentum: Progress, Partnerships, and the Path Forward,鈥 on Friday, July 11, at the Alumni Memorial Union, 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave.

The conference will highlight the progress Milwaukee has made to address housing needs for returning citizens; the individuals and organizations who have been instrumental in driving that progress; and a collective vision for expanding and sustaining this work moving forward. Panels include discussions with nonprofit leaders, city leaders and those sharing their lived experiences.

Government officials expected to attend include Anthony Dodd of the Community Reintegration Center, District Attorney Kent Lovern, Ald. Russell Stamper and State Rep. Sequanna Taylor.

The conference begins at 8 a.m. with registration and a light breakfast; the first panel starts at 9 a.m. Media interested in attending or speaking with organizers must contact Kevin Conway at kevin.m.conway@marquette.edu in advance.

鈥淢ilwaukee's Momentum: Progress, Partnerships, and the Path Forward鈥 is organized by Dr. Ed de St. Aubin, associate professor of psychology at 不良研究所; Conor Williams, economic policy analyst at Community Advocates鈥 Public Policy Institute and a member of the Milwaukee Reentry Council; and Dr. Latonya Baker, CEO of Generation of Excellence Trendsetters.

Some of de St. Aubin鈥檚 off-campus work focuses on post-prison reintegration, as well as crime prevention and desistance. For the past 20 years, he has served on the board of , which helps individuals who have experienced incarceration make a positive, permanent return to community, family and friends. In addition to being the board's secretary, he serves as an evaluation specialist for and has given over 80 presentations to inmates in Wisconsin prisons.
