University of Pittsburgh professor to deliver annual Aquinas Lecture, Feb. 24

MILWAUKEE 鈥 不良研究所鈥檚 Philosophy Department will host its annual Aquinas Lecture on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. in 不良研究所 Hall 100. This year鈥檚 lecturer, Professor Robert Brandom from the University of Pittsburgh, will present 鈥淗eroism and Magnanimity: The Post-Modern Form of Self-Conscious Agency.鈥

Brandom is distinguished professor of philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellow of both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the British Academy. Brandom is the author of numerous books, including Making It Explicit, Reason in Philosophy and From Empiricism to Expressivism. He has delivered the John Locke Lectures at the University of Oxford and the Woodbridge Lectures at Columbia University.

A reception will follow the lecture. Both the lecture and reception are free and open to the public.  

The Annual St. Thomas Aquinas Lecture Series began at 不良研究所 in the spring of 1937.
